Policies & Vaccination Requirements
The health, safety, and well-being of every pet in our care is our highest priority. To help maintain a clean and healthy environment, all dogs participating in daycare, boarding, training, or grooming services must be current on the following vaccinations:
- Rabies
- Distemper (DHPP/DAPP)
- Bordetella
Proof of vaccination from a licensed veterinarian is required prior to your pet’s first visit and must remain current while utilizing our services.
Health Requirements
Dogs displaying signs of illness, including coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, contagious skin conditions, or other symptoms of communicable disease, should remain home until cleared by a veterinarian. We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue services for any pet showing signs of illness.
All dogs must be free of fleas, ticks, and other external parasites. If parasites are discovered during a visit, treatment may be required before services can continue, and additional cleaning fees may apply.
Behavior & Safety
The Proper Pup strives to provide a safe environment for all pets and staff. Dogs exhibiting aggressive, dangerous, or uncontrollable behavior may be denied participation in daycare, boarding, group activities, or grooming services. Safety decisions are made at the sole discretion of our staff.
While every effort is made to provide a safe environment, interactions with people, equipment, and other dogs carry inherent risks. By utilizing our services, owners acknowledge and accept these risks.
Intact Dogs
Intact dogs are welcome; however, participation in daycare, boarding, or group activities may be limited based on age, behavior, and compatibility with other dogs. We reserve the right to make participation decisions in the best interest of all pets in our care.
Appointments & Cancellations
Appointments are required for all services. We kindly request at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Repeated no-shows or last-minute cancellations may be subject to fees or restrictions on future bookings.
Late Pickups
Pets not picked up by their scheduled departure time may incur additional charges. Boarding fees may apply to pets remaining after closing hours when prior arrangements have not been made.
Emergency Care
In the event of an emergency, The Proper Pup will make reasonable efforts to contact the owner and emergency contacts. If immediate veterinary care is necessary, we reserve the right to seek treatment on the pet’s behalf. Owners are responsible for any veterinary expenses incurred.
Owner Responsibilities
Owners are responsible for providing accurate and up-to-date vaccination records, emergency contact information, and any relevant medical or behavioral history. Changes in health, behavior, or vaccination status must be communicated prior to services.
