Emily Komeshak is the owner and lead trainer behind The Proper Pup. Born and raised in Swansea, Illinois, she graduated from Althoff Catholic High School and attended Lindenwood University before pursuing her passion for working with dogs professionally. She later earned her Professional Dog Trainer certification through Kennelwood Academy.

Emily has built her career around helping dogs and their owners communicate more clearly through structured, relationship-based training. Her approach emphasizes clarity, consistency, and a strong understanding of canine behavior to create lasting, real-world results.

At The Proper Pup, Emily has developed a full-service facility that includes training, day camp, boarding, and grooming. She oversees a structured environment where each dog receives individualized care, appropriate socialization, and attentive supervision in a safe and controlled setting.

Her goal is to create confident dogs and informed owners through practical training and a well-rounded care experience that supports better behavior at home and in everyday life.
